I really love this set of photos from Brooke and Paul’s wedding at Fairmount Park’s Horticulture Center.  I hadn’t been there since I first started shooting weddings and now that Stephen Starr Events has taken over the space it’s really amazing.  The rest of the photos were taken in the neighborhoods surrounding Le Meridien Philadelphia and Reading Terminal Market.  Congrats again Brooke and Paul and thanks again for a fantastic day!

The drive to Long Beach Island always transforms me, with each minute of the ride bringing me closer to the oasis and calm that is Bonnet Island Estate.  I’ve been to Bonnet Island Estate a number of times now and love shooting there.  The space was the ideal setting for Amber and Marc’s wedding and matched them perfectly.  Super fun and easy going, while still somehow managing to be impeccable.  Congratulations again!

I’ve been a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association – WPJA for a few years now.  They’re a prestigious group of photographers whose members are selected by some of the top photojournalists working today.  This competition was judged by photographers from the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune and Sports Illustrated and it’s an honor to have won.

Judges comment: Not only does this capture raw emotion, there’s layers to this image. Love the hand gently dabbing her tears and the people behind the bride getting ready.
